I love the idea of this picture but it confuses the eye. The perspective is wonderful with the huge pillar and the red dragon curled around it. The matching red of the tiny figure facing off  (or simply talking to) the dragon. The swooping stairs. The slight tilt to it all which emphasises the scale. But it took me a while to realise what I was looking at. I think it bothers me that the dragons wing on the right is cut off and you loose the curve of it. This is a paining of grandeur and yet the grandest thing, the dragon, feels crammed in.
